The African Bird Fair BirdLife South Africa

In the year 2020, the African Bird Fair went virtual. For about 15 years the African Bird Fair has been held physically in South Africa.

Some of the popular locations where the African Bird Fair has been held in the past include Johannesburg Zoo and Walter Sisulu National Botanical Garden. 

In the year 2020, it is not possible to have a physical meeting in South Africa and thus the Bird Fair organisers have decided to plan a virtual event.

The virtual African Bird Fair includes both pre-recorded and live talks from various birding experts from across Africa. Other activities during the African Bird Fair include birding discussions, live interviews, selected demonstrations and even an exciting quiz. Many exhibitors are also taking part this year, from safari and tour operators, to bird clubs and birding optic companies.
